2016 Portland June Events

All Month: OPsFest: Free Shakespeare Performances in Portland Parks | A Midsommer Nights Dreame, Hamlet, Tempest & More!
Original Practice Shakespeare Fest is dedicated to bringing a new style of Shakespearean performance to Portland, and the surrounding area, by reviving the old. Their actors perform using the same performance techniques as they did in Shakespeare’s own time, which means limited rehearsal; an onstage prompter; fast-paced, energetic acting; and lots of audience interaction! All Month: Portland Pickles Baseball Info & Schedule | Walker Stadium in Lents Park, Concession, Playground
There is a new collegiate wood-bat team based in SE Portland! The Portland Pickles are busy preparing for their inaugural season, which begins in June. The team plays in the Great West League (GWL) and will play a total of 33 home games this season at Walker Stadium in Lents Park (SE 92nd Ave. & SE Holgate Blvd.) The Portland Pickles is owned and operated by Rose City Baseball, LLC, under the direction of team President and CEO Ken Wilson. June 16-19: 4 Peaks Music Festival | Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Jackie Greene, Jeff Austin Band, Camping
Join us during summer solstice weekend for the 9th Annual 4 Peaks Music Festival. 3 days and 3 nights of music, family, friends, and fun! This intimate family-friendly festival spans many genres of legendary musicians including Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Jackie Greene, and Jeff Austin Band. June 17-18: Cider Summit Portland @ Field Neighborhood Park in NW Portland | 150+ Ciders, Live Music, VIP, Featuring Ciders from 5 States and Multiple Countries
Cider Summit is pleased to announce that early bird tickets to attend Cider Summit Portland are now on sale. The sixth annual event will be held Friday-Saturday, June 17-18, 2016 at Fields Neighborhood Park at NW 10th & Overton in the Pearl District. June 17-19: Oregon Garden Brewfest | 120 Handcrafted Beers, Ciders & Mead, 60 Breweries
The 12th annual Oregon Garden Brewfest presented by Venti’s Café will take place June 17 through 19 – Father’s Day weekend – at The Oregon Garden, located at 879 W Main St. in Silverton. The popular Willamette Valley festival will feature 120 handcrafted beers, ciders and mead from 60 different breweries from across the nation. Event hours are 3pm to 11pm Friday, Noon to 11pm Saturday, and Noon to 6pm Sunday. More info here.

June 18: Walk Dad into Portland’s Sinful Past on the Shanghaiers, Saloons & Skullduggery Tour | w/ Kick A** Oregon History Historian Doug Kenck-Crispin (Win Tickets, $36)
In addition to the shanghaiers and con men, always on the prowl, saloons, gambling halls and bordellos also thrived in “Whitechapel,” “The North End,” or Old Town, as we know it today. Some of these storied establishments have come and gone, but others have survived, and many say that Portland, or “Strip City,” still has that vulgar and rugged reputation to this day. June 18: Grateful Dad Half Marathon & 10K @ Kliever Memorial Armory | Beautiful Views of Columbia River, Beer Garden, Music & More!

June 18-19, 25-26: The Pullman Table @ Mt. Hood Railway | Fine Dining Service, Local Food, Wine, Beer, Spirits
In the heart of the Columbia River Gorge scenic area, the Mount Hood Railroad in Hood River, Oregon is a unique locale for a fine dining rail experience. The historic craftsman-style depot built in 1911 is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, reflecting the nostalgia of the time. Located in the downtown district and neighboring restaurants, coffee houses, breweries, wineries and shopping, the railroad is a focal point of history and the rich heritage of Hood River. June 19-September 9: Oregon Zoo Summer Concerts Series | Fitz & the Tantrums, Jake Bugg, Flogging Molly, The B-52s & More!
Oregon Zoo Summer Concerts features two nights with local favorites Pink Martini, and one night each with Texas legend Lyle Lovett and his Large Band, The B-52s with The English Beat, Ziggy Marley with Steel Pulse, from Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club Omara Portuondo & Eliades Ochoa, and Jake Bugg. Despite global worries over Colony Collapse Disorder, honey bees are thriving across our city. June 25 & 30: Portland Actors Ensemble Presents 2016 Twilight Tragedie: Coriolanus @ Pettygrove Park | Free, A Timely Exploration of Popular Politics

June 20: Last Thursday on Alberta | Street Closures, Parking, Beer Garden, Vendors, Noise

This noon-time Summer Concert series features a variety of local musical talent and is curated especially for the Square by Kink. July 1-3: Portland Craft Beer Festival @ The Fields Neighborhood Park | July 4th Weekend, Featuring Batches Only Made in City Limits
The Portland Craft Beer Festival (PCBF) is an annual opportunity for the legal-drinking-aged public to taste a substantial representation of beers originating from Portland, Oregon breweries. Only beers, plus ciders and wine, crafted within the city limits of Portland are featured at the PCBF which makes it unique and different from other beer festivals. More info here.

July 1-4: Waterfront Blues Festival Announces Lineup / Schedule | Tedeschi-Trucks Band , JJ Grey & Mofro, Maceo Parker, ZZ Ward & More!
Since 1988, Oregon Food Bank has produced the Waterfront Blues Fest to raise funds and awareness to fight hunger in Oregon and Clark County, Washington. As Oregon Food Bank’s largest annual fundraising event, this Portland flagship festival has become a treasured tradition for locals and visitors alike; it is the largest blues festival west of the Mississippi and the second-largest blues festival in the nation. July 29-31: JAW: A Playwrights Festival 2016 Line Up | Three Featured Playwrights Bring New Scripts to Portland for Development, FREE Public Readings
Three scripts have been selected from more than 175 submissions to be featured in Portland Center Stage’s 18th annual festival for new work development, JAW: A Playwrights Festival. Playwright Kevin Artigue will develop The Forcings, a magic realism-infused play that stares unflinchingly at a family in crisis and a civilization barreling toward extinction; Mia Chung will develop Catch as Catch Can, a story exploring the shifting roles we play in the presence of family; and Nathan Dame will develop The Saints, a funny and poignant journey of a young woman making her way back to hope. To add to the excitement of this year’s JAW festivities, PCS will also workshop two of the world premiere productions that are slated for its 2016-2017 season: Wild and Reckless, a new musical event from Blitzen Trapper; and Lauren Weedman Doesn’t Live Here Anymore by Lauren Weedman (The People’s Republic of Portland, 2013 and 2015). One of the longest standing, best-loved folk festivals in the Northwest, celebrates its 51st celebration from September 15 through September 18, 2016. The Mount Angel Oktoberfest began as a traditional fall festival to celebrate the bounty of the earth and the goodness of creation. The Oktoberfest is still going strong, carrying with it the quality, warmth and fun of a community effort unparalleled in the Northwest. Oktoberfest kicks off with a traditional German Webertanz (May pole dance) performed by Mount Angel school children at noon each day. More info here.

September 17: The Color Run 5K @ Portland International Raceway | Featuring The Tropicolor World Tour, Rainbow Beach Finish Line, Massive Color Throws & More!
The Color Run®, one of the largest 5k event series in the world, will be held in Portland, Oregon on September 17th. The event will be held at the Portland International Raceway located 1940 North Victory Boulevard, and the race will begin at 8:00 am. Registration is open for individual runners and teams.
